Track your expenses
Have you ever wondered where all your money went? Chances are, you’re spending more money than you realize. Lots of small purchases add up fast. That’s why today’s challenge is so important and so helpful. Tracking your expenses means to keep a log of everything you spend money on. Tracking often uncovers spending surprises. If you buy a cup of coffee or a candy bar a few times a week, you might be spending more money over the course of the month than you think! Give it a shot! Track your expenses for a day, a week, or even a month and uncover those surprise expenses.

Commit to save
Commit to a savings or debt reduction goal such as opening a savings account, adding to an existing account, opening a college savings account atuesp.org, or investing in a retirement account. Visit utahsaves.org and join a large community of people who are saving money every day!
From piggy banks to bank accounts, saving money is one of the most basic and important financial concepts. Without money in savings, small financial emergencies result in significant financial stress. If you don’t have a habit of saving, start small and set easily attainable goals. Saving a little at a time is better than not saving anything at all. Once you begin saving, you’ll be surprised at how quickly it adds up.
